Funniest picture ever. Actually this is a pile of lost luggage...hope they donate it.
LAS VEGAS
Okay we are here .....took forever to get across the border at Lewiston, we actually thought we might miss our flight. Arrive at the long term parking which if any of you have done that before it is a parking lot that is for the cheapo's like me, and they built it in another city or so it appears, so if you are in a hurry foget it and pay the extra. Okay we grab the shuttle, but not before poor Misty has to change her T-shirt due to a ketchup blob, in the parking lot infront of the shuttle bus, so there i am holding up a giant Robert Pattison blanket as the shuttle guy is impatiently tapping his fingers on the steering wheel all the while staring .....perv. So we get to the airport only to find that our flight to New York area is delayed due to lightning. So finally we get on the flight, really small plane, shuffle a few people to get Misty closer to us and away we go. arrive in Newark NJ, just outside of NYC, we can see NYC it is beutiful. Get on our flight to Vegas, which is 5 hours, and this plane is a beauty, even has live TV at each seat. Arrive in Vegas only to hear Vas and Mistys name being paged, yep you guessed it, no luggage for vas and misty. Mine however has arrived. Vas and Misty are tired and not impressed. Okay go get the rental car, they offer us a smart car .....haha you had to see vas face when they said that, i asked if it came with clown noses ..... man these Vegas people have zero sense of humor, I thought that was funny. Okay now we need to find a Walmart to get misty something to wear till luggage gets here. Vas is a trooper he does not care. Get misty some pjs pants, everyone gets mcDonalds (yes we are eating McDonalds, me just a pkg of fries) Check into our hotel, That in itself is a whole other story, but okay we are here, it is now friday june 18th 2010 10:30 am and vas has gone to get bags at airport, just finished a starbucks so i am jacked, misty is getting up and ready, her room is 2 doors down from us. Will upload pics tonight ....viva las vegas .....
THE FAMILY REUNION ....VEGAS STYLE
We arrive in Vegas June 17th. Misty (my daughter has come with us). The reunion starts on June 18th. This is the hotel we are staying at. The Stratosphere. It has the best views and it has rides on the top.
Today June 18th was day one of the family reunion....what fun. Many more pics to come tomorrow, we are going as a group to fire canyon. Also Vas is going to jump from the stratosphere in the sky jump, it is a free fall from the 108th floor.....not kidding stay tuned
Valley of Fire in Nevada
The Valley of Fire derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of dinosaurs, 150 million years ago. Complex uplifting and faulting of the region, followed by extensive erosion, have created the present landscape. Other important rock formations include limestones, shales, and conglomerates. Prehistoric users of the Valley of Fire included the Basket Maker people and later the Anasazi Pueblo farmers from the nearby fertile Moapa Valley. The span of approximate occupation has been dated from 300 B.C. to 1150 A.D. Their visits probably involved hunting, food gathering, and religious ceremonies, although scarcity of water would have limited the length of their stay. Fine examples of rock art left by these ancient peoples can be found at several sites within the park.
We arrive at Valley of Fire and decide to walk through the desert and go to see Mouses's Tank:
Mouse's Tank: Named for a renegade Indian who used the area as a hideout in the 1890's. Mouse's Tank is a natural basin in the rock where water collects after rainfalls, sometimes remaining for months. This is a half-mile round trip, and you know it may not sound like much, but let me tell you this is not for the weak ....I ride my bike to work everyday and this desert kicked my ass. It is very hard to walk through sand, hot blistering sand I might add. So we make it to the Tank area, and Vas decides of course to climb down into the tank and gets in there only to find a bees hive with literally thousands of bees swarming around in the rock formation called the tank, needless to say he jumped out quickly and it was at that point that most of us were dying from 120 degree heat stroke and sand in our throats and eyes and the fear of scorpions and rattle snakes every where you turn, so we head back, half a mile round trip I clearly doubt it, felt like 5 miles, however we did pass numerous examples of prehistoric Indian petroglyphs. I included a few pics of those. The large rock formation that is much lighter in color is a light yellowish one, not all were bright red. Okay the lizard, we did not kill it, the facts are this, a family arrived there and saw this lizard and in trying to catch it....shame on them...they accidentally killed the poor thing. Misty was so sad. It was a beautiful little lizard.

Family Reunion Stankowski style
We all arrived at 4pm on the 19th for the dinner party, it was at a beautiful community building that Bob and cathy rented. The best was the Elvis impersonator who was hired, what a hoot. Misty and Vas won as team canada for i think bachi ball. We played bingo (look at Donni Gordon with the funny necklace on trying to bingo dab all of those cards,) and Cliff was sounding like an auctioneer with those bingo numbers, calling them out faster than we could dab our pages...it was too funny. The best was when cousin henry stankowski showed the elvis how he walks on his hands....we were all laughing so hard. Oh and Misy won two times in bingo and got to pick prizes from the prize table. Speaking of misty i think she is out gambling with her cousins
CHER AT THE COLOSSEUM ..........most amazing show ever
